i tend towards horror games but here’s a quick list of my faves by genre:

• survival horror: pathologic, silent hill 2
• indie horror: yume nikki/2kki, off, space funeral
• mystery: danganronpa, your turn to die, chzo mythos
• puzzle platformer: oddworld: abe’s exoddus and soulstorm
• life simulator: animal crossing, harvest moon: a wonderful life

and some others by series:

• animal crossing: population growing
• pokemon: heart gold
• zelda: minish cap

i think of this list yume nikki, abe’s exoddus and animal crossing were most formative! i don’t get the opportunity to play video games too often anymore but if you are on desktop you have the opportunity to play the art game every day the same dream in your browser. you can also download it for windows and mac.”

ahhh i appreciate this so much and i’m happy to have inspired you, welcome to web dev!!! it can be very intimidating but it’s so rewarding to stake your claim on the internet that is totally, wholy yours without being at the mercy of an unstable platform. do start slow and build up from there, it’s a huge world but you don’t need much to have a perfectly serviceable website. whenever you find yourself at a point where you need to take that extra step and you’re feeling unsure, try it!

and thank you for your kind words re: my ocverse… i’ve had a pretty serious art block these past few months so i’ve been putting up old art until i get my website/head sorted out. however i’m feeling more confident now that i have this space that i can push my stories as far as they need to go, so when i have everything together i can go all out!!!

i wanna open comms so bad, i just work so slow i can’t realistically charge for the time it takes me to do something. i got some new brushes i’m excited to work with, i think they might speed things up for me but i don’t want anyone to have to listen to me apologize for 4-6 months that whatever isn’t done yet while i figure out how to do it faster.

i do have some ideas for cute themed commissions like a four panel kissing booth photo strip where you can decorate the booth and pick what is happening in each photo but idk if there would be any takers with something that specific.

this is a hard one because i don’t think my art reflects my inspirations visually or thematically so it’s more “artists i like.” tkki is inactive but they were probably my favorite lolihet artist and i’m also a big fan of kaneoya sachiko and si-ku. overall i think i learned most from homestuck fan artists like sukka, one in particular that colored their lineart on a clipping layer which i feel really brings everything together.

where the twitter cut can’t see it, i’m also a big namio harukawa fan but i’m on the fence about posting the uhhh forbidden hardcore sapphic M/s for a lot of reasons if anyone is interested i might post some but it gets pretty hard so i’m a little shy about it
